Rama Industries Ltd.

Being over at Nariman Point in the Free Press House is an interesting experience. Our office is at 51-52, which is right in the middle of all the Mumbai action. It’s a busy building with a lot of history, and you can feel it in the elevators and the hallways. We spend our days handling the industrial side of the business from these rooms. It’s a lot of phone calls, emails, and looking at spreadsheets. The view outside is nice, but we’re usually too busy with the files to look out much. There’s a constant hum of city life outside—the cars, the people walking to the station, and the general noise of a business district. We’ve got desks piled with folders and a coffee machine that gets a lot of use every morning. It’s not one of those modern offices with bean bags; it’s more traditional with wooden desks and filing cabinets. We try to keep things moving efficiently, but sometimes the bureaucracy of the industry slows things down. We usually grab lunch at one of the small stalls nearby or bring something from home to save time. By the time the sun starts to set over the water, we’re finishing up the last of the daily reports. It’s a high-pressure area to work in, but we’ve gotten used to the pace over the years and just keep going.
