Down in Andheri West, specifically in Bhusari Colony at 298, you’ll find Rajesh Auto Stores. It’s a place that’s been around and seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The shop is narrow but deep. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the rows of containers for engine oil. They have that bright plastic look. We have all sorts of mirrors and lights for different car models. I spend a lot of time on a tall stool behind the counter. The fan above me hums a certain way that I’ve grown used to over the years. Bhusari Colony is a decent place to be. We get a lot of locals who just need a new wiper blade or maybe some coolant for their radiator. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where the stock is kept. Sometimes a customer comes in and doesn't know the name of the part, so they try to describe it with their hands. We usually figure it out eventually. The floor is concrete and we sweep it every evening before we leave. There’s a small temple shelf in the corner with a lamp. It’s just a quiet, steady kind of business. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Andheri, just a reliable one for the people living nearby who need their vehicles running.
