Rajan Subhedar Architects

We are located in Sharada Colony, over in Worli West. It’s an alright area to work in, though the humidity can get to you sometimes during the monsoon. Rajan Subhedar Architects has been around for a while, and we’ve stayed in this same spot. The office is tucked away a bit, so it’s not too loud. We have a few rooms dedicated to drafting and meetings. Most of the furniture is a bit old, but it’s sturdy and does the job. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek lobby or fancy coffee machines. We just have a kettle and some biscuits for when we’re working late. A lot of our time is spent looking at building codes and trying to make sure the designs work for the space available in Mumbai. It’s always a challenge with the limited space here. We have a lot of long-standing relationships with local contractors, so we spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating things. It’s a lot of small details that most people don’t think about, like where the plumbing goes or how the light hits a room. We just take it one project at a time. The atmosphere is pretty casual; we might have some music playing in the background while we work. It’s just us doing our jobs in a way that makes sense for us and the people we work for.
