Our office for Raaj Scaffolding is actually in a flat, specifically number 502 in the Moti 2 building in Mumbai. It might seem a bit unusual to run a scaffolding company from an apartment, but it works for us. This is where we handle the logistics and all the billing for our projects. The actual heavy equipment is kept elsewhere, so you won't see poles in the hallway. Being in the 400103 area puts us right in the thick of Mumbai life. It’s a crowded building and the elevators can be slow, but we’ve made this space our own over the years. There are usually three or four of us here, surrounded by files and phones that don't stop ringing. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby for visitors. If you come by, you’ll just find us working at our desks. The neighbors are used to our coming and going by now. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you don’t know the streets, but that’s just how Mumbai is. We focus on getting the scaffolding to the right sites at the right time. It’s a lot of coordination and checking schedules. We don't try to sound like a massive corporation. We are just a small team in a flat trying to keep up with the city's building boom. It’s practical, everyday work for us here.
