Raahi Enterprises

Raahi Enterprises is located on the 5th floor of Ajanta Chambers, Room 88, on Kalbadevi Road. It’s right near the Bank of India. Getting up to the 5th floor can be a workout if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. The building is old and full of history, just like the rest of Kalbadevi. Our room is small and packed with files and samples. Outside, the road is always jammed with people and carts, but it gets a little quieter once you’re up here. We spend our days mostly on the phone or working through documents. It’s a lot of coordination since we are an enterprise dealing with various goods. There’s no lobby or fancy chairs for visitors; we usually just pull up a stool. We’ve got a small window that lets in some light, but mostly we rely on the overhead tubes. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, so there’s always a sense of urgency in the air. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We don’t talk about missions or visions. We just talk about what needs to be shipped and who we need to call next. It’s practical, slightly messy, and very much a part of the local trade scene. We just keep things moving as best as we can in this crowded building.
