R. Nagardas & Co. is located at No 179 Samuel Street, right on the first floor. If you know Masjid Bunder, you know it’s one of the most crowded places you can find. Khoja Gali is always buzzing with people, handcarts, and deliveries being moved around. Our office is up the stairs, away from the main chaos of the street, though you can still hear all the shouting and horns from the window. It’s a traditional setup with wooden desks and lots of ledgers and files piled up. We’ve been in this area for a long time, and the building itself has a lot of history. It’s not modern at all. The stairs are a bit narrow and steep, but everyone around here is used to that. We spend our days talking to suppliers and customers who come by. It gets really hot in the summer months because the sea breeze doesn't quite reach this far into the narrow lanes. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. There’s no fancy air conditioning or glass partitions here. Just a few fans spinning and people working. Dealing with the logistics in Masjid Bunder is always a challenge because of the traffic, but we’ve figured out the rhythm of the market over the years. It’s a busy, loud, and honest way to make a living. Most of us have been here since we were young. We know everyone on the street.
