Our place is in the Vasan Udyog Bhavan, right in the Sunmill Compound. It’s unit 118. Being in Lower Parel means it’s always crowded and busy, especially since we are right across from Phoenix High Street where all the shoppers go. You can hear the noise from the mall and the constant traffic all day long. We deal with pharmaceutical products, mostly handling the distribution side of things for the bigger companies. The building is one of those old industrial blocks where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We spend a lot of time checking batches and making sure the paperwork for the regulators is in order before anything leaves the door. It’s not very exciting work, but it’s what we do. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and boxes everywhere, and the desk is usually a mess. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down for a minute or two. The freight elevator is very slow, so we have to plan our shipments carefully or we end up waiting on the loading dock forever. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. Just a small nameplate on the door that’s a bit crooked. It’s a busy life here in Mumbai, and we just try to keep up with the pace. We have people coming in and out all the time, asking for updates or dropping off stock.
