Pugalia Woolen Mill

You can find us on the 5th floor of Arun Chamber, which is Building 507. We’re right near the A. C. Market, so the area is always packed with people shopping and traffic getting stuck. We work with wool. It’s been our main thing for a long time. The office up here is full of samples and old ledgers. We don’t have any of those modern glass walls or minimalist furniture. It’s just wooden desks and the smell of fabric everywhere. Most days we are dealing with mills and suppliers, making sure the quality is what it’s supposed to be. It’s not a fast-paced tech job. It’s slower, more about the feel of the material and the relationships we’ve built over decades. Sometimes the lift in Arun Chamber acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a workout to the 5th floor. We aren’t trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to make sure the woolen goods we handle are decent and that our customers are satisfied with what they get. Our staff has been here forever, and we mostly just drink tea and talk about the market prices. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We stay in our corner of the building and keep the business running like it always has. There's usually a pile of wool scraps in the corner where we test different batches for softness and strength before we send anything out.
