If you go down Cama Road in Andheri West, you’ll find us at 13/Tilak Dham. Priti Leather Works has been sitting in this spot for quite some time. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a strong, earthy scent that stays on your clothes, but we don't mind it. We spend our days cutting, stitching, and fixing up leather goods. It’s slow work if you want to do it right. Our benches are scarred from years of knives and needles. We have rolls of hide stacked up in the corners, waiting to be used. Most of our neighbors are used to the sound of the sewing machines running. It’s not a quiet shop, but it’s a productive one. We don't have a big storefront with lights and displays. Usually, it’s just the work being done right there where people can see. Some folks come in with old bags they want repaired, and others want something new. We just handle it as it comes. Being in Andheri West means it’s always crowded outside, but once you step into Tilak Dham, it feels a bit more focused. We aren't a massive factory. It’s just a handful of us who know how to handle leather. We take our time and don’t rush the process. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it a long while. That’s just the way it is here in the workshop.
