Pritam Jewellers

Our shop, Pritam Jewellers, is tucked away in M Andheri East. You can find us at Shop No 2 along the Sakinaka Pipeline. We are on Shishdora Wala Ten Road, which is right near Chajjed Hospital. It’s a busy little corner of the world. People are always passing by on their way to the hospital or the local markets. We’ve been here for quite some time now. We sell gold and silver and fix pieces that have broken. It’s a small shop, so it’s easy to talk to everyone who comes in. We don't have fancy security guards or a velvet-lined lobby. It’s just a counter, some scales, and us. We know a lot of the families around Sakinaka because they’ve been coming to us for years. Sometimes we just sit and chat with people even if they aren't buying anything. It’s that kind of neighborhood. The noise from the pipeline road is always there, but we don't mind it. We just try to be fair with our prices and do a good job with the repairs. It’s a simple life running a jewelry shop. We aren't trying to be the biggest in Mumbai. We just want to be the place where the locals feel comfortable bringing their gold. It’s just us, doing our thing near the hospital in Andheri. The tea stall nearby keeps us going through the afternoon rush. We usually stay open until about nine.
