Preparation Of Contractors Bill

Our office is tucked away in Elphinstone, right at 5/513 Shanti Niwas in Mumbai. It is an old building, but it does the job for what we do here. Most of the time, we are buried under piles of papers and spreadsheets because dealing with contractors' bills is a lot of back and forth. You have to check every single item and make sure the math actually adds up, which it sometimes doesn't. We deal with various local builders and subcontractors who need their invoicing sorted out properly before they can get paid. It is a lot of phone calls and sitting at the desk. Mumbai is always loud outside the window, but we just get on with it. I’ve lived around here for a while, so the commute isn't too bad, though the trains are always a mess. People usually just drop by with their folders and we go through everything one by one. There isn't anything fancy about the way we work. No big computers or special software, just basic accounting and making sure the records are straight. Sometimes a bill takes an hour to fix, other times it takes all day if the site manager didn't write things down clearly. We just try to help get people their money without too much of a headache. It's just simple clerical work done by local people.
