Laxmi Industrial Estate is a pretty loud place to work, especially over here at 5H/5R. Between the New Link Road traffic and the other businesses in the estate, there is always some kind of noise. Premier Glass Pvt. Ltd. handles a lot of glass here in Andheri. It’s an industrial area, so the floors are concrete and there’s always a bit of dust in the air. We spend our time moving crates and making sure the glass doesn't get chipped. It’s heavy work and you have to be careful where you step. The office part of the unit is just a small corner with a couple of desks and a computer that’s seen better days. We don't have fancy signs or a big lobby. Most people who come here are drivers or guys picking up orders for construction sites. Sometimes it rains hard and the sound on the metal roof makes it impossible to hear anything. We just keep our heads down and get the loading done. There are a few stray cats that hang around the estate, and we see them every morning when we unlock the gates. It’s a practical setup. We have our tools, our racks, and enough space to get the trucks in and out. It’s just how things are done in this part of town. No fluff, just plenty of glass and hard floors for the crew.
