Being located at 52-C in the Chhotani Building on Proctor Road is definitely an experience. If you know Grant Road East, you know how busy it gets around here. Our space is usually packed with boxes and components. Precious Electronics isn't a showroom; it's more like a working hub where things are constantly moving. The building itself has that old Mumbai character, with the narrow hallways and the smell of the city coming in through the windows. We spend a lot of our morning just sorting through the new stock that arrived the night before. Sometimes the elevator is acting up, so we end up hauling stuff up by hand, which keeps us awake at least. Our desks are covered in papers and sample parts. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a front desk person to greet you with a scripted line. It’s just us. When someone calls asking for a specific part, we’re usually scrambling around the shelves to see if it’s tucked away in a corner somewhere. The afternoon heat can get a bit much, so we keep the old fans going. Most of us have been working in this area for a long time, so we know the local tea sellers and the other shopkeepers on Proctor Road. It's a tight-knit spot despite all the noise outside. We just try to get the orders out and keep the inventory from taking over the whole floor. It’s a lot of work, but we’re used to it.
