You can find Pratik Enterprises on the first floor of the A.C. Market in Tardeo. Being in unit 19 means we’ve been part of this market for quite a while now. It’s a classic Mumbai commercial building, a bit worn down but still full of life. Our space is quite small, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our goods. There’s barely enough room for three people to stand comfortably when we have a lot of stock in. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners in the corridor during the slow hours. Usually, we’re busy checking the inventory or writing out bills by hand. The lighting isn't the best, so it feels a bit like a cave sometimes, but it stays relatively cool compared to the street outside. We don't really do any advertising; people who need what we sell just know to come to the first floor. We eat our lunch at the small desk in the corner, usually while answering the phone. It’s a tight-knit community in this building, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. We just keep our heads down and focus on making sure our customers get what they came for without any unnecessary talk. It’s a practical way to run things, and it has worked for us for years without needing to change much. We just keep the shelves filled and the door open for anyone.
