We’ve been here at Gala No. 14 in Bori Estate for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot near the Ganesh Mandir on Tilak Nagar Link Road, right in the middle of the Sakinaka rush. If you know Andheri East, you know how the traffic gets around here, but we’re used to it by now. The workshop stays pretty loud with the machines running most of the day. We handle moulds and dies, which means there’s always metal shavings and a bit of oil on the floor, no matter how much we sweep up. It’s just the way things are in this line of work. Most mornings start with a quick prayer at the temple nearby before we open the shutters. Sometimes it gets a bit hot inside during the summer, but we keep the fans going and stay focused on whatever is on the bench. We aren't a big fancy outfit, just a group of guys who know how to work the machines and get the shapes right. People stop by to chat or ask for things, and we try to help out when we can. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we moved in, but the estate still feels like the same old place. We spend a lot of time checking measurements and making sure the tools are sharp. It’s steady work, and we’re glad to have a roof over our heads here in Sakinaka.
