Poddar & Co.

Our office is at 212/A in the Panchratna Building, which is a place most people in this part of Mumbai know pretty well. It is a massive building and sometimes the elevators take forever, so we end up taking the stairs if we are in a hurry. Being in the Opera House area means there is always something going on outside. The space we have isn't huge, but it fits everything we need like the computers and the filing cabinets that have seen better days. Poddar & Co. has been operating from this corner for quite some time. We mostly spend our hours looking at spreadsheets or talking on the phone with people about the trade. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed. There is no corporate vibe here at all. It is more about the stacks of paper on the tables and the way the light comes in through the small windows. We know the other folks on our floor by name because we see them every day near the water cooler. It is a busy life, and we just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the delivery guys get confused between the different units, but we usually sort it out quickly. It’s just a normal, hardworking office in a very old, crowded building.
