Pilot Pneumatics Pvt. Ltd. is based out of unit number 24 in Sona Udyog, which is on P.P. Road in Andheri East. Anyone who knows Mumbai knows how busy Andheri is. It’s a tight squeeze in the industrial estate, and parking is always a headache. We’ve been squeezed into this space for years. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with pneumatic valves, tubes, and different fittings. It’s a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we always have the lights on. We spend most of our time answering the phone or packing up orders for customers. It’s not a quiet office; you can hear the traffic from P.P. Road and the sounds of other businesses in Sona Udyog all day long. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’re likely to run into someone carrying a box or checking an inventory list. We know our regulars by their voices now. The tea lady comes around twice a day, and that’s when we take a short break. The work is repetitive, but it’s what we know. We aren't a huge corporation with big meetings. We just talk across the desks to get things sorted. When the monsoon hits, we have to watch out for leaks in the roof, but we manage. It’s a typical Andheri workspace, functional and a bit crowded, but it works for us every day.
