Phoenix Auto Industries

Queens Road is a funny place because it’s always moving. Our shop, Phoenix Auto Industries, sits right by Smruti Society. You can hear the engines from the main road all day long. We started out with just a few wrenches and a lot of floor space that felt too big back then. Now, it’s crowded with parts and old crates. We don't spend much time cleaning the grease off the walls because there's always another job waiting. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands since they were kids. We see all kinds of vehicles, some so old you wonder how they even reached the curb. It’s honest work, even if the knuckles get bruised a lot. The neighbors in Smruti Society are used to the noise by now, though we try to keep it down after the sun goes south. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV or anything like that. People usually just stand around and watch us work or go grab a tea nearby. It’s dusty, and in the summer, the heat trapped under the tin roof is something else. But we like the routine of it. We just take one car at a time and see what’s wrong. It’s not a corporate chain, just a local spot where things get fixed up. We plan on staying here for many more years to come.
