Perfect Chain Industries

Our place is down in the Thakker Industrial Estate in Mazgaon. It’s on the ground floor of Old Anjir Wadi. If you know the area near the Mazgaon Post Office, you can find Perfect Chain Industries pretty easily in Champshi Bhimji Cross Lane. It’s 34-C. The machines make a lot of noise all day long. It is mostly the sound of metal clicking and heavy gears turning. We have been in this spot for a while. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but nobody has time for that. There is grease on the floors and we usually have stacks of crates waiting to be moved. It gets cramped when a new shipment comes in. We don’t really do anything flashy here. We just make what we make and send it out. Some days the humidity in Mumbai makes the workshop feel like an oven. We drink a lot of water and keep the machines running. It is a working man’s space. There isn’t a receptionist or anything. You just come to the ground floor and talk to whoever is nearest the door. We know our regulars and they know how we work. It is simple and it works for us. We don’t spend much time thinking about being a big company. We just keep the chains moving and try to finish before the sun goes down.
