Our place is Pepco Health & Beauty Care (P) Ltd. and we are situated in Gala No.V at the Kothari Compound. It’s a 27-acre area, so it’s quite big, and we are right behind Mukesh Trading Co. and near Tikujiniwadi in Manpada. If you know the area, it’s mostly industrial sheds and warehouses. It gets pretty hot in the summer under the corrugated roofs. We spend our days managing the supplies and looking after the stock. Since we are in a compound, there’s always trucks moving around and people loading stuff. It can get quite noisy with all the activity outside our door. Inside, we have our own rhythm. We deal with health and beauty products, so there’s often a faint smell of soaps or lotions in the air. We aren't a big fancy company with a lobby; it's more of a practical workspace where things get done. We have a couple of old fans that we keep running to stay cool. There’s a lot of checking labels and packing boxes to make sure everything is ready for the local shops. We’ve been here in Manpada for a good while, and we know the other guys in the neighboring galas. It’s a hard-working atmosphere. We grab tea from the stall near the gate and just get on with the day’s list of tasks. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit backed up, but we clear it by the end of the week.
