Pavan Tyres Ltd is situated at 422 Lower Parel, right inside the Maruti Nagar Society. We’re part of that Creative Sitaram Mill Compound on Pataliya Hanuman Road. It’s a real maze back here if you aren't used to the area. The neighborhood is old Mumbai style, very crowded and full of life at all hours. Our shop is packed floor to ceiling with tyres of all different sizes and brands. There’s barely enough room to move around between the stacks sometimes. We spend the whole day lifting heavy rubber and balancing wheels for people who drive in. The smell of new tyres is the first thing you notice when you walk into the compound. It’s a busy spot because of the location; people are always coming in with punctures or needing a new set before they head out on a long trip. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just a simple counter and a lot of stock. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time getting into the narrow entrance of the compound, which causes a bit of a stir with the neighbors. We’ve got a couple of machines for the wheel work that are quite noisy, so it’s never really quiet around here. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, but that’s just part of being a tyre shop in this city. We mostly just focus on getting the customers back on the road as fast as possible. It’s a simple business.
