Running a shop like Patel Auto Parts here in Kandivali West keeps us on our toes. Most days, it’s just a lot of looking through catalogs and checking the shelves for that one specific bolt or filter someone needs for their car. We’ve got stacks of boxes everywhere, and it can look like a bit of a mess to someone walking in from the street, but there’s a system to it. People come in stressed because their vehicle isn't working right, and we try to help them find the part that fixes it. It’s not glamorous work. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease by noon, and the phone doesn't stop ringing. Kandivali is a crowded area, so there’s always traffic outside the door. We spend a lot of time talking to local mechanics who know exactly what they want, and also to regular folks who aren't quite sure what’s wrong with their engine. We don’t have a big fancy showroom. It’s just a counter, some stools, and walls lined with everything from brake pads to spark plugs. Sometimes we don't have the part in stock, and we have to call around to see who can send it over. It’s just the way things go in the auto business. We’ve been at this for a while now, and we just like the routine of it. We open up, drink some tea, and start sorting through the orders for the day.
