Parth Instruments & Controls is tucked away in the Diamond Industrial Estate over on Ketkipada Road. If you are coming through Dahisar East, you know how busy it gets around the industrial areas. Our unit, number 426, is usually full of various control panels and measuring tools. It’s an industrial estate, so there is always the sound of machinery or trucks loading things in the background. We don’t have a lot of space for sitting around, as most of the floor is taken up by the instruments we are working on. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the side of the building. We start early to avoid the worst of the commute and get a head start on the day's tasks. The paperwork for these controls can be a bit of a headache, but it’s part of the job. We have a small crew and everyone knows what they need to do. We aren't big on meetings; we usually just talk across the room while we work. The estate has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. We keep a kettle in the corner for tea, and that’s about as fancy as it gets here. Most of our day is just making sure the numbers on the dials are right and the orders are packed properly for the local couriers to pick up. We usually finish up when the sun starts to go down and the traffic outside begins to settle.
