Panorama Printing Inks

Plot No 6 over on Kalyan Ambernath Road is where we spend most of our time. Panorama Printing Inks is basically just a group of us working in the Shantinagar part of Ulhasnagar. You can usually smell the ink before you even walk through the door. It’s a busy road outside, lots of traffic and people moving between Kalyan and Ambernath. Inside, it's a bit different. We have our vats and the mixing equipment. It’s messy work. Your hands stay stained for days no matter how much you scrub them. We’ve been in this industrial area for a good bit now. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it suits what we do. We don't really do big meetings or anything; we just check the batches and make sure the colors are looking okay. Sometimes the power goes out or a delivery truck gets stuck in the Shantinagar traffic, but we manage. People stop by the office and it’s usually just a quick chat about what’s needed. We don't have a website with fancy photos. What you see is just a regular shop floor with containers everywhere. We just try to keep the machines running and the floors as clean as you can expect for an ink place. It's about being practical and getting the mixtures right. We don't have corporate slogans on the walls, just some old calendars and safety signs. It’s a bit gritty, but it’s ours. Most of our staff live nearby and walk to work, so we know everyone’s family news.
