P & K Traders Llp

P & K Traders Llp is based in Ballard Estate, which is one of those old, grand parts of Mumbai. We are in Wakefield House, Office 109 on the first floor. It's on S S Ram Gulam Marg, right near the New Custom House. Being so close to the customs office is really helpful for a trading business like ours. The building is one of those classic stone structures with high ceilings and heavy doors. It stays a bit cooler inside than the modern glass buildings. We deal with various trading activities and spend a lot of time walking over to the government offices nearby. The area is full of history and lots of other shipping and trading firms. It’s always busy with people in shirts carrying folders. Our office is functional, with old wooden desks and stacks of ledgers. We don't have any of those modern open-plan layouts. It’s more of a traditional setup. We know the postman and the local canteen guys quite well. The traffic in South Mumbai can be tough, but we like the character of this neighborhood. We’ve been here for some time and don't see ourselves moving anywhere else. It’s a solid place to do business. We just get on with our tasks and handle the trade documents as they come in. It’s a busy life, but we enjoy the rhythm of the port area.
