Otis Elevator Co. (India) Ltd.

Our office is located at A-202 in Priyanka Apartment, which is in Barampur, Vasai West. This is out in the Thane district, quite a way from the main center of Mumbai. Vasai has a different feel to it, a bit more relaxed but still very busy with all the people living out here. We use this apartment as our base of operations for the whole district. It is a simple setup with a few desks and some filing cabinets. Most of our work happens on-site at various buildings, so the office is mainly for planning and paperwork. We have got a small crew of technicians who live around here. We know the local trains and the bus routes well. In this part of the country, elevators take a lot of wear and tear because of the salt in the air and the heavy use they get. We spend our days checking cables and oiling parts. It is a messy job sometimes, and we often come back to the office with grease on our clothes. We are not trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We are just a local branch of Otis doing the daily grind. We talk to the building managers and the residents like regular people because that is what we are. It is a steady job and we like the community feel of being in Vasai West. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
