Our shop is tucked away in the Tawawala Building down in Lohar Chawl. It’s shop number seven on the ground floor, so you don’t have to climb any stairs which is a plus when you’re carrying wood. Oswal Wood Craft has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a tight space, but we make it work with all the tools and wood pieces lying around. You can usually smell the sawdust before you even step inside. We spend most of our time measuring things and cutting them to size. It’s dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. There’s always someone coming in asking for a specific type of trim or a piece of board for a home project. We don't have a big showroom, just the workshop where everything happens. Sometimes the street outside is so crowded you can barely walk, but that’s just Lohar Chawl for you. We’ve got our regulars who come in because they know we’ve been here forever. It’s a simple business, really. We take the wood, we work on it, and then it goes out the door. No fancy machines here, just old-fashioned hands and a few reliable saws. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it right here in this little spot for as long as I can remember. We don't worry about the noise much because everyone around here is doing something similar. It just fits.
