Our place is in Jogeshwari East, on Road Number 4. We are part of the H. F. Society and the building is called Aoudumber. It is an older part of the neighborhood and has a very local feel to it. Oriental Weaving & Processing Mills has been around for a long time. The sound of the machinery is the main thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a rhythmic noise that defines our workday. We deal with weaving and processing, so there is always a lot of thread and fabric around. The space is often filled with rolls of material waiting for the next step. It’s not a modern, silent factory. It’s a place where you can see the work being done with your own eyes. The light comes in through the side windows and catches the dust in the air. We have a group of people here who have been with us for years. We know the neighbors in the society and the shopkeepers on the road. Jogeshwari East is a crowded area, so there is always something going on outside. We keep our heads down and focus on the looms and the processing tanks. It’s hard work and it can get quite warm in the summer months. We don't have fancy brochures or a big sales pitch. We just run the mills and make sure the fabric is handled the way it should be. It’s a way of life for us.
