Oriental Mechanical Works (P) Ltd.

We've been at 10, Omar Jamal Compound for a good while now. It's tucked away on Bellasis Road, right at 275/279. If you know the area, it's pretty busy around here, but we like it. Oriental Mechanical Works (P) Ltd. is basically just us doing our daily thing with metal and machines. Most days involve a lot of noise and grease. We don't have a fancy front office or anything like that. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. The guys here have been working these machines for years. Some of the equipment is older than the younger staff, but it still runs fine if you treat it right. People come by when they need something specific fixed or made. We don't do much talking; we just get to the work. Bellasis Road has changed a lot since we started, but we're still in the same spot in the compound. It gets hot in the summer, and the fans barely do much, but we're used to it. We keep our tools organized, mostly, though things get messy when we're in the middle of a big job. If you walk past the compound gate, you'll probably hear us before you see us. There isn't much more to it than that. We show up, do the mechanical work, and go home. It’s a living, and we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t really know anything else. No frills here, just the sound of iron on iron.
