Open Atelier

Our workspace is at 73-75 Maharshi Karve Road, down in the Marine Lines area of Mumbai - 400020. We are quite close to the ICICI Bank there. The office is more of a studio or a workshop than a typical corporate environment. We have stuff everywhere—models made of cardboard, piles of sketches, and different types of stone and wood samples. It’s a bit of a creative mess, but that’s how we like it. Marine Lines has a specific feel to it, and we enjoy being part of this neighborhood. We work on all kinds of architectural and design stuff. We don't have a standard way of working; every day is a bit different depending on what a client needs. Sometimes we are out on a site getting dusty, and other times we are stuck at our desks for ten hours straight. We don’t have a fancy reception or a polished sales pitch. If you come in, you’ll probably find us in the middle of a discussion or buried under some paperwork. We try to be very practical about what can be done. Mumbai is a tough place to build or renovate, and we try to navigate those challenges without making it too complicated for the people we work for. It’s just a small team of us here, and we all do a bit of everything. We enjoy the work, even when it’s stressful or the deadlines are tight. We just try to get the details right and move on to the next thing.
