We've been at Shop No. 67 in Lokhandwala for a while now, right across from the McDonald's in Andheri West. People usually find us easily because of that landmark. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out walking and the street lights come on. We handle jewelry and gemstones here at Om Shilpi Jewels & Gems Private Limited. The shop isn't huge, but we keep things organized. My brother and I usually take turns sitting at the counter. Sometimes it gets crowded when a whole family walks in to look at rings together, and other times it's just quiet for hours. We try to keep the glass cases clean, though fingerprints always show up somehow. Working in Andheri West means we see all sorts of people. Some are just window shopping while waiting for their food across the street, while others know exactly what they want. We don’t do big fancy ads or anything like that. Most folks who come in live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a straightforward business. We show you the pieces we have, you take your time looking, and that’s about it. Dealing with gems is interesting because every stone looks a bit different under the light. We spend a lot of our day just checking pieces and talking to the regulars who drop by to say hello. It's a decent way to spend the day in this part of town.
