Om Leather Enterprises

Started here in Shivaji Nagar a long time ago. The unit is in Apna Ghar, M-403. Jogeshwari East is always busy, you know how the traffic gets around here. We spend most of our days surrounded by rolls of leather and the smell of glue. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a work space where we get things done. Sometimes the electricity acts up in the building, but we manage. Most people who come by are looking for specific cuts or maybe just want to see what we have in stock. My desk is usually covered in scraps and measuring tapes. We don’t have a big marketing team, it’s just us doing the work. The neighbors in the society are mostly used to us by now. We try to keep things quiet but sometimes the machines are loud. It’s a bit of a walk from the station if you aren't used to it. The monsoon makes the walls a bit damp, but that's just Mumbai for you. We’ve stayed in this same spot for years because it feels like home. There's always tea coming in from the stall downstairs. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the workshop where the actual making happens. We usually close up when it gets dark unless there’s a lot of work piled up on the table. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s honest. We focus on the orders we have.
