Okaidi

Okaidi is based over in Kurla West, right near the Working Women Hostel in Mumbai. It is a very busy part of the city, and there is always a lot of noise and activity outside our doors. We have a small office there that is mostly used for managing our stock of children's clothes. It is not a very big space, just enough for a few desks and some racks for the clothes. Most days, we are busy checking the inventory and making sure everything is where it should be. It gets quite hot and humid, so we keep the fans on all day long. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the traffic near Kurla station is so bad. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights or anything like that. It is more of a practical workspace for us. The building is older, and the lift can be a bit slow, so we usually just walk up the stairs. We often go out for tea at the stall around the corner when we need a break. We have been in this spot for a few years now. It works for us because it is easy to get to. We don't spend any time on advertising or big promotions. We just focus on our work and being a regular part of the local area. It is honest work and we like it. The rainy season makes things a bit damp, but we manage just fine.
