Occasions Cakes

Occasions Cakes is a small shop located at number 4 on Gajjar Street in Andheri East. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighborhood is pretty familiar to us by now. Most of our day is spent in the back where the ovens are, so it gets quite warm and smells like sugar and flour all the time. We don't have a lot of space, so things can get a bit cluttered with boxes and baking tins. We focus on making cakes for whatever people have going on, like birthdays or small parties at home. It’s not a fancy setup, just some display cases and a counter where we take orders. We get a lot of people walking in from Gajjar Street, especially in the evenings when it’s a bit cooler outside. Sometimes we’re so busy with icing cakes that we don’t notice someone has walked in right away. We try to keep the shelves stocked with smaller treats too, for anyone who just wants a quick bite. The work is mostly just following recipes and making sure we don’t burn anything. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that; it’s just a few of us working together. We see the same faces every week, and it’s nice to know the people who live around here. We just keep our heads down and get the baking done every single day. The shop stays open until the last order is picked up and the floors are swept.
