Oberoi Constructions, Mumbai

We are based out of Malad, specifically in the Mumbai-97 area. Oberoi Constructions, Mumbai is pretty much a local fixture here. Malad is a huge place, but we’ve managed to carve out our own little space. It’s a mix of old and new, and we’ve worked on a bit of both. We aren't some big high-rise office with a view of the ocean. Our space is functional and full of the stuff we need to get through the day. Working in construction in Mumbai means dealing with a lot of noise and a lot of people. You have to be quick on your feet. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or friends. We just focus on the job at hand. Sometimes the trains are delayed or the rain is pouring down, and it messes up our schedule. That’s just how it is here. We try to be straightforward with everyone. There’s no point in using big words when simple ones work better. We’ve been part of the Mumbai landscape for a good while. We see the same faces every day and we like it that way. It’s a busy life, moving from one site to another, checking on progress and making sure things are moving along. It’s not always easy, but it is what we do and we keep at it daily.
