Numatik Electronics

Numatik Electronics is tucked away in Adarsh Industrial Estate on Sahar Road. If you know the Chakala area in Andheri East, you know how the traffic can get. We spend a lot of our time listening to the sounds of the street while we work on the electronics. The room we have is number 236, and it’s a bit of a tight squeeze once you get all the equipment and the staff inside. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling packed with components and boxes. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what we’re looking for because things get moved around during the week. We get a lot of dust from the main road, so we have to keep everything covered up at night. The lift in this building is quite old and sometimes it’s faster to just take the stairs, even if you’re carrying something heavy. We’ve got a small window that looks out towards the metro line, which is nice to look at when we take a break. Most of our day is spent at the benches with soldering irons or testing the circuits. It’s a steady pace, and we’ve been here long enough that the security guards downstairs know our families. We don’t have fancy brochures or a lobby, just a workspace where we get things done. We just keep it simple and straightforward around here.
