Ar Salim And Sons is located at Shop No. 186. You can find us right across from the police station in Nul Bazar. It’s a very specific spot. Being near the station means there is always something going on outside our door, sometimes quite a lot of noise. The bazar is usually crowded, especially in the mornings when everyone is out doing their shopping. We’ve been in this shop for years. It’s a small space, filled with all the things we deal with every day. My sons and I run the place together. We don't have a big staff or anything like that. It’s just family. We open up early and sweep the front before the crowds get too thick. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We’re too busy with the actual work. Customers come in and we talk, sometimes about the weather or just local news. It’s a very traditional way of doing things. We don't use fancy computers for everything. Some things are still done the old way with a pen and a ledger. It works for us. The noise of the market is just part of the background now. We don't even notice the sirens or the shouting anymore. It’s just home for us during the day. We try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. That's just how we were raised to do business.
