We are located over at D-115 in the Ghatkopar Industrial Estate. If you know the area, you know it is crowded and there is always something moving. The estate has been here forever. We spend our days dealing with all sorts of valves. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is a constant hum from the equipment. It is not the kind of place where you wear a suit. Most of us are in work clothes that have seen better days. We get orders in, we look at the specs, and we get to work. Sometimes the weather makes the shop really stuffy, especially during the monsoon when the humidity hits. We have a small crew that has been around for years. We know each other well enough to know who takes their tea with extra sugar. Usually, the phone rings more than we would like, but that is part of the job. Logistics in Mumbai can be a real headache with the trucks trying to navigate those tight estate roads. You just learn to wait your turn. We don't spend much time talking about fancy goals. We just want to make sure the valves we send out actually work for whoever is buying them. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There is always a lot to do before the weekend comes around.
