If you’re looking for us on 18th Road in Bhandup West, we’re right there in Bhagwan Bhuvan, Shop No 1/1. It’s a busy stretch of road. The shop is filled with auto parts from top to bottom. If you walk in, you’ll see shelves reaching up to the ceiling. Most of them are packed with gaskets, filters, and things I can't even name without looking at the boxes. There is always a smell of oil and new rubber in the air. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The counter is made of wood and has scratches from years of people sliding heavy metal parts across it. New Satara Auto Parts is what the board outside says, though the paint is peeling a bit. My hands are usually a little dirty because I’m always digging through the back to find a specific bolt or a clutch cable. People come in mostly because something on their bike or car broke and they need a quick fix. We don't have a computer system that works perfectly, so sometimes we just have to remember where we put things. It gets loud when the buses go by outside. We keep a small radio in the corner, but you can barely hear it over the street noise. It’s just how it is working here. We open up, talk to the mechanics, and try to keep everything organized.
