New Prakash Tailor

You can find us in the Vallabh Building, right at A-1 in Ghatkopar East. We are directly opposite Gandhi Market, so the area is always full of life and people shopping for clothes and groceries. Our shop is a bit small, but it’s got everything we need to get the tailoring done. I spend most of my day behind the sewing machine or at the cutting table with a measuring tape around my neck. There are piles of fabric everywhere and bits of thread on the floor, but that is just how a real tailor shop looks. People come in with all kinds of requests, like shortening trousers or stitching a new shirt from scratch. We’ve been here for quite some time, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. The noise from Gandhi Market usually drifts in, especially on the weekends when it’s really crowded outside. We don't have any fancy displays; just the finished clothes hanging up and the mirrors for people to check their fit. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes we have to rush to get an outfit ready for a wedding or a festival, but we usually manage to get it done. It’s a simple life in Ghatkopar, just cutting and stitching day after day. We like being part of the neighborhood and seeing the same faces come back to us whenever they need something altered.
