New India Trading Co. is located on the first floor at 296 A.R. Street. You have to walk up a narrow set of stairs to find our door. It is an old building, so the steps are a bit worn down from people using them for decades. Once you get upstairs, it is a lot quieter than the street below. We have been here for a long time. The office is full of old wooden cabinets and stacks of paperwork that seem to grow every month. We deal with a lot of different people every day. Some come in person, while others just call us on the phone to check on their orders. We do not have a fancy reception area. Usually, you will just see one of us sitting at a desk covered in files and folders. We try to stay organized, but it gets busy. Sometimes the electricity cuts out for a bit, so we just wait it out or use flashlights if we have to find something in the back storage area. It is just part of being in this area. We know the other traders on the street, and we often grab lunch from the small stall around the corner. We do not do much in terms of promotion. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships we have built over the years. It is a straightforward business. We show up, do the work, and go home.
