We are located in Naman Midtown, unit 1104-B on the 11th floor. It’s on Senapati Bapat Marg in the Elphinstone Road area, right in Lower Parel West. This part of Mumbai has changed a lot lately, with all these big glass towers coming up where the old mills used to be. Nayakem Organics is one of those offices high up in the sky. It’s a long wait for the elevator in the morning because the building is so tall and everyone is trying to get to work at the same time. Once we are finally inside the office, it’s mostly about managing the chemical business. We handle organic materials, which involves a lot of logistics and talking to different factories. Our office is clean and modern, but it gets pretty busy with people on the phone and typing away on their laptops. You can see the local trains passing by from the windows if you look out at the right time. It’s a fast-paced environment because everything in Lower Parel moves quickly. We don't have time for a lot of small talk, but we do make sure to take our lunch breaks together. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, and we have to wear sweaters even when it’s boiling hot outside. We deal with a lot of different clients, so the phone never really stops ringing throughout the day. It’s a lot of responsibility making sure the chemicals are handled and shipped the right way. We just keep moving.
