Navi Mumbai Special Economic Zones

Navi Mumbai Special Economic Zones has a presence here in Gurgoan. It’s a bit of a jump from the actual Mumbai area, but this is where we handle a good portion of the regional coordination. The office is where the planning happens. We spend a lot of time on computers and on the phone, trying to make sure all the moving parts of the zone development are lined up. Gurgoan is a busy place, so being here makes sense for meeting with partners or consultants who are also based in the NCR. It’s a straightforward operation. We have a small team that knows the ins and outs of the SEZ rules. Usually, the office is filled with the sound of typing and people discussing project timelines. We don’t really do marketing or anything like that; we just focus on the technical and administrative side of the project. Sometimes it’s a bit dry, looking at land records and zoning maps all day, but it’s what keeps the whole project moving forward. There’s a lot of coffee involved and plenty of spreadsheets. We’ve been in this area for a bit, and it’s become our home base for the north. It’s not a retail spot, just a place for work. Most of us have been here long enough to know the local lunch spots by heart. It might not look like much from the outside, but there is always something going on inside these walls.
