Nandini Steel, Mumbai

We are located at 47, Navnidhi Bhavan in Mumbai. It’s right there in 5th Kumbharwada, which is usually a very busy area with all the steel trade going on. Our office is on the first floor. If you’ve ever walked around this part of the city, you know how it gets with the trucks and the heavy loaders moving metal around. We’ve been here at Nandini Steel for quite a while now. It’s not a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we handle our orders and talk to customers who need different kinds of steel. Usually, the day starts early because the heat gets a bit much by the afternoon. We keep a lot of records in big old files. Sometimes the fans make more noise than they should, but we are used to it by now. The neighborhood is mostly other workshops and small offices like ours. You can hear the sound of metal clanking from the street pretty much all day. It’s a practical setup. We just focus on getting the right sizes out to the people who ask for them. There isn't much to say about our history except that we've stayed in the same spot while things around us changed. We drink a lot of tea from the stall downstairs. It’s a simple life here in the middle of all the industrial chaos of Mumbai.
