Nanda Valuers

Our little office is over in Andheri West, right on the main road in the Magan Jeevan Chawl. It’s office number seven. If you’ve ever walked down that road, you’ve probably passed us without thinking much of it. It’s a simple space, nothing like those big glass towers you see further out in the newer parts of the city. We spend most of our time looking at papers and working on valuation stuff. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic right outside, but you get used to the sounds of the street after a few weeks. The chawl has its own rhythm, and we’ve been part of it for a bit. There’s always someone coming or going in the hallway. Inside, we have a few chairs for visitors and a desk that’s seen better days, but it serves its purpose well enough. We don’t really go in for decorations or anything. Usually, I’m the one answering the phone or checking the mail while the others are out on site or busy with the books. It’s practical work. We know the neighbors pretty well by now. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit damp, but we just keep the fans going. It’s an honest place to work. No one puts on airs here. We just handle the valuations and keep things moving. It’s just how things go for us every day in this part of town. We are usually here from morning until late evening.
