You can find us at 72/73 in the Bombay Timber Market. We are located right on Signal Hill Avenue near Reay Road. The whole area smells like wood and sawdust all the time. It is a very old market and some of the buildings look like they have been here forever. We have stacks of timber piled up nearly to the ceiling. It is heavy work moving the logs and planks around every day. The trucks arrive early in the morning and block up the narrow lanes while we unload the wood. It can be a real headache getting around when it rains because the ground gets muddy and slippery. We have a small crew that has been handling the timber for years. They know exactly how to sort through the piles. We don't really have a fancy showroom. Most people just walk through the stacks to see what we have in stock that day. It gets very busy during the construction season. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the other shop owners nearby while we wait for the next load to arrive. The noise from the saws is constant throughout the day. Reay Road is always full of activity and we are right in the middle of it. We keep things pretty basic here. If the timber is here, we sell it, and if it is not, we wait for the next shipment. It is a lot of lifting but we are used to it.
