Mumbai Port Trust

At Mumbai Port Trust, our local spot is at 11 Kolaba House. This is part of the B.P.T. Quarters right on Dune Road in Colaba. It is a very old part of town with a lot of history in the walls. You can really feel the sea breeze coming off the coast since we are so close to the water. The building has that classic Mumbai feel, maybe a bit weathered by the salt air, but it stands strong. It isn't like those new glass buildings you see in the suburbs. Here, the ceilings are high and the hallways are wide. We spend our days here handling whatever comes across our desks. It is a quiet street for the most part, considering it is Colaba. We have neighbors who have been living and working in these quarters for decades. It feels more like a small community than just a place of business. Sometimes the humidity gets to the paperwork, and we have to keep the fans going at full speed. There’s a certain charm to being down here near the end of the city. You see the old trees and the stone structures every day when you walk in. It is a simple setup without any modern frills, just a solid place for the staff to gather. We are easy to find if you are wandering down toward the dunes. It is just a regular office for us.
