Sahara Tex Ports Private Limited is located at No. 102 Rushabh Apartments on Chapekar Bandu Road. We are right behind the Khandoba Temple in Mulund East, so we hear the temple bells quite often throughout the day. Our space is mostly full of fabric rolls and samples of different textiles. We deal with a lot of cotton and synthetic blends, so there are always loose threads on the floor that we have to sweep up. The apartment unit has been converted into an office and a small storage area. It’s a bit cramped when a new shipment arrives and we have to stack everything near the entrance. Chapekar Bandu Road is usually a bit calmer than the main parts of Mulund, which we appreciate. We spend our hours checking the quality of the weaves and making sure the colors match what was ordered. Sometimes the light in the room makes it hard to see the exact shade, so we have to take the fabric over to the window. We do a lot of packing here, using big rolls of tape and heavy cardboard boxes. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break from the paperwork. It’s a lot of manual work, moving rolls around and checking shipping documents for the ports. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the neighbors all know us.
