M/S.Mahindra Ugine Steel Co. Ltd (Musco)

Musco is what everyone calls us around here in Khopoli. We sit in the D1/3 area of the Musco Colony. It’s an old company town feel. Being in the Raigad district, we get some of the heaviest rain you can imagine. The steel plant has been the heart of this place for decades. We are not some new startup with a glass office. Our buildings have seen a lot of years. There is a lot of dust and the smell of hot metal is just part of the air we breathe. We walk to work from the colony houses most days. It’s a short commute through the trees. The Mahindra Ugine Steel Co. Ltd. has a lot of history in these parts. You can see the smoke from the stacks against the Western Ghats. It’s a rugged place to work. We spend our hours on the shop floor or in the small offices nearby. Things aren't always perfect. Sometimes the power goes or a machine needs fixing, and we just deal with it. It’s a community of workers. We don't have a marketing department writing things for us. This is just a place where steel is made and people live their lives. The mountains look nice in the morning before the heat starts. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing every single shift.
