Our office is in Block S 2 on the 2nd floor of the Laxmi Woolen Mills Estate. It’s located on Shakti Mill Lane, just off Dr E Moses Road. The estate has a lot of history, and you can see it in the old brickwork and the way the buildings are shaped. Getting up to the 2nd floor is a bit of a climb, but the space is decent once you’re inside. We deal with fasteners all day, so there are boxes of screws, bolts, and all sorts of small metal parts everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a warehouse feel, very practical and not at all fancy. The windows are large but they’re quite old, so they let in a bit of a draft when it’s windy. We have a couple of desks where we manage the orders and talk to people on the phone. The area around Shakti Mill Lane is always busy, and sometimes it’s hard for delivery trucks to get in and out. We usually eat our lunch together in a small cleared-out space among the shelves. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day, just counting stock and making sure things are going to the right place. We’ve been part of this estate for a long time and have seen many businesses come and go. We just keep our heads down and get the work done before heading home.
